7 Minute Workout V. Actual Exercise

Have you tried the 7 Minute Workout?

Do you like it? OK, I’ll rephase. Did you find it useful?

If you haven’t come across it, it is a set of 12 exercises designed to be done at high intensity for 30 seconds, with 8 second intervals so that you can catch your breath. The workout encompasses all the major muscle groups. Designed by the American College of Sport, the idea is that if you exercise at high intensity the health benefits are greater than regular gentle exercise.

I started doing it at Christmas and did it every day, but now I just do in when travelling and when the weather is bad and I can’t go outside for a walk.

It’s particularly useful when travelling and you arrive late somewhere with an early start. It is a great way to get quick  and dirty exercise.

All you need is a chair and enough space to lie down flat (bed if necessary), download the 7 Minute Work Out app, and in 7 minutes you’ll be at least a bit puffed to very puffed, depending on how hard you did it. And then …. it’s over.
